How to stream into XBMC from Tonido
I have a HTPC running XBMC as the front end and I am currently able to veiw my videos remotely on my laptop through Tonido. What I would like to do is be able to keep XBMC as my front end on the laptop as well but be able to stream to it from my HTPC through Tonido. I am not particularly techie but I can follow directions. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes that is the idea. I travel a lot and want to be able to access it all from my laptop outside the home network.

That is not possible, protocols like DLNA or network LANs don't operate on the in the internet, so using Tonido's iPad app or the web app is only possible.

It is possible to make a local share available on the Internet, however this is highly insecure and cannot be recommended.
Share the folder or folders on your HTPC as if they were to be accessed locally, log on to your router and open the ports that is used by Windows shares (assuming this is Windows), if you do not know the port, google it. Then on your laptop you map a network drive using your external (wan) IP.
Now you can access the share on your HTPC wherever you are, just as if you were on the same LAN.
