@UrbanVoyeur
Thank you for getting the front page of the wiki back up again. :)

What I do not understand is how a spam bot can get acces to the wiki as is is "protected" with a Username + Password. The methods used by DokuWiki in https://www.dokuwiki.org/antispam are to do either nothing and clean up or make it more difficult to register. and I can't even figure out how I can register for the Wiki. ;)

Maybe It's a good idea to have an off-line backup, so it can be put back fast if needed?

One way to stop spam bots from logging in is to give member-accounts only to those with content to add to the Wiki.

Then you have an interest in keeping the Wiki spam-free!

I do not have an account on the Wiki.

Just use the username: marioscube
and please sent me the password as a PM :!:

I'm happy to donate some of my spare time.

Greetz,

Mario

Maybe we set it up that users have to be manually added by the admins. So anyone wanting to contribute to the wiki sends a message to the admins somehow and then an account is created and sent to them. That will prevent all spam!

I'm with the CAPTCHA for creating an account and also fill one in to post a comment.

As for making the forums easier to use may be removing the repeated questions, it just needs a tidy up.
