How do I rename my USB Drives (Failed Rename Error)

Postby ermguy » Mon Oct 13, 2014 7:11 pm

I am attempting to rename my USB Drives to something meaningful.

Currently they are disk1part1 and disk2part1 and are difficult to tell apart when browsing.

When I rename from Tonido Drive, the s/w simply renames the drive, then creates a third drive with no link to it.

When I rename from the Web app, I get a Failed Rename error.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tonido Community.

Good luck with that. I've thought the same thing, but haven't found an answer yet. If I do I'll come back here.

Just a word of caution - my USB failed two weeks ago - and I've been advised elsewhere that they are prone to corruption, and therefore not reliable as active storage. So one possible answer to your question is to ditch the USB.

Unfortunately, there is no way currently to change the system names of the folders to something more user friendly.
