Photos visible in file area, but not in Photos

Postby rlbyrd1964 » Sat Jul 06, 2013 1:38 am

The "Photos" area is populated in the web interface. However, in the ipad app, while the photos are all visible in the files area, the photos section spins for a bit, then returns nothing. The server is a TonidoPlug v2. Everything else works fine except for this. I might also add that I have a lot of images... > 10,000. Could something be timing out? What could I do to fix this? Happens on both the ipad and iPhone.

Number of photos is not an issue. We have tested with 50000+ photos. Most likely some special character in the name is causing XML encoding issue.

unfortunately the only way we can debug is if we can connect to it using our debugger to see what might be causing the failure.

I have a similar problem when I try to index photos. After a while it just hangs and I'm not able to access the web UI anymore. SSH works as before.

Here's a snippet from the log
...................................
02:39:24:473 [11] [CoreWorkserService]:E: CoreWorkserService:processThumbImageRequest: Caught [Image: unknn image format]
02:41:43:945 [20] [IndexingMonitor]:E: addWatches: Possible watch limit reached. failed with errno 28
02:41:43:946 [20] [IndexingMonitor]:E: addWatches: Possible watch limit reached. failed with errno 28
............................................

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Topi

Happened on the plug and under Ubuntu, using the recommended OS.

Do music and videos return data OK in the iPhone and iPad?

Well, in my case the indexing seems to mess everything. In other word, I'm not able to access the Tonido web UI or use the Android or iPad apps to access the plug.

It is hard to debug the issue without a log. Please change log level to trace, enable indexing and restart tonido wait for the hang and get us the log files.

I've noticed the inotify error on Ubuntu linux when tonido tries to index a folder that contains symlinks, even if tonido has access to the files that the symlinks points to:

15:30:38:832 [13] [IndexingMonitor]:T: addWatches: exception processing : /srv/gen8/files/tonido/Desktop/eclipse2017/IMG_3043.JPG

this can be easily reproduced with this:

create ~tonido/folder/dir1/
put pictures in ~tonido/folder/dir1
create folder ~tonido/folder/dir2
create symlinks in ~tonido/folder/dir2/*JPG pointing to ~tonido/folder/dir1/*JPG
