I think it did improve ntfs. All my drives are ntfs and earlier I had a write speed of ~3megs, and now i see it average around 6 and sometimes make it up to almost 10. So while it is around 6-10 now, it is still an improvement over what it was for ntfs.

I looked at data transfer speeds for NAS drives and unless you purchase a really expensive one the transfer rate is about what I am getting on the Tonido Plug ( 5-6 MB/s). So, the transfer rates you managed to get on the other formats are really quite impressive. Kudos.

This is a comparison chart for many stand alone NAS drives:

Do I understand correctly that if I have the latest version of Tonido I do not apply the fix manually? Now, if we could only get the NTFS rates up a little more.

Thanks for your hard work on this product.

Just here to add another vote for better NTFS performance. I saw a max wire speed of about 50Mbps to an NTFS partition, around 150 Mbps to the ext3. Needed to backup a 4 GB file to the server in less than 10 minutes, couldn't do it on the NTFS.

Will this thread be updated by Tonido person when an update that closes the gap on NTFS. vs ext3 is made available?

Has CodeLathe looked into licensing Tuxera? I understand that there would be a licensing fee. If I had to, I'd be willing to pay a reasonable fee to purchase improved NTFS performance.

I'm thinking something like CodeLathe licensing Tuxera, CodeLathe paying Tuxera $x (whatever you manage to license with Tuxera), and then selling it as an upgrade for $x + $y mark-up.

That's an interesting point. We will consider this.
