Advantages and Disadvantages of using Tonido Relay

Postby charonmiddle » Wed Oct 26, 2011 2:46 pm

Hi,

Please explain what are the advantages and disadvantages with using the Tonido relay?

If you don't use it, and use port forwarding, what information bypass the Tonido servers?

Relay: Nothing to configure to get remote access, connection flows through our servers. Nothing is stored in our servers.

No-Relay: Router configuration required. Faster. May not be able to run on port 80 because of ISP restrictions, so URL will have port number. Completely self conftained.

Another important difference: Relay allows HTTPS encrypted connections, which is not yet possible with No-Relay."
