Not enough free space to perform update - error message

Postby pkowalski » Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:20 am

I currently have ver 2.28 installed and would like to update. I only have 64MB available.

I have run the following process:
http://www.tonido.com/help/Index.htm?context=580
And tried "Cleanup Space"

I continue to get the "Not enough free space to perform update" error message when I try to update.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

I have now reached the stage where I can no longer logon to my TonidoPlug via the browser. I really need help with this problem - does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Phil

Did you install anything other than Tonido apps onto the plug?

Have you ever SSH'ed to your plug? If not, get familiar with that.
http://www.tonido.com/help/Topics/IDH_Topic230.htm

Get a list of all folders and their sizes. SSH to your plug and run the following command. Create a text file on your USB drive with the list of folders. Change "disk1part1" to the mount point of your USB drive.
du -h -x -m / > /media/disk1part1/du.txt

Compare your folder list with mine. Download your du.txt file from your plug to your PC, and my du-sample.txt attached to this post to your PC. Compare side-by-side or with text file comparison software (WinMerge). Search for folders that are significantly larger on your plug than on mine, and folders that exist on your plug but not mine.

Yes, but I really don't have any experience in Linux.

OK - I did everything that you suggested and found one major difference:
103 /root/app/tonido/approot/profiles/pkowalski/plugindata/torrent/torrentdata
0 /root/app/tonido/approot/profiles/arsenault/plugindata/torrent/torrentdata

there were some other minor differences, but I assume that 103 vs 0 is the problem. So, what do I do now?

I appreciate your help, my first post was quite some time ago and I started to believe that I was on my own!

Thanks,
Phil

Phil,
You are right. That folder should not have any torrent data.
SSH into the plug and delete the contents of that folder.

Code: Select all

 # rm -rf /root/app/tonido/approot/profiles/pkowalski/plugindata/torrent/torrentdata/*

Now restart the plug and you should be able to access tonido. Once you login to Tonido, goto Settings-> Account Tab-> User Data Directory. Set the directory to a folder on the external USB drive.
