Is my Tonidoplug dead?

Postby fullerms » Wed Jul 27, 2011 5:42 am

Hi all,

My Tonido plug which was working fine until today morning seems to have died all of a sudden. There is a green led which lights up on the plug itself, and the ethernet leds light up. But no activity on any of these leds and the plug itself is cold (as in ambient temperature cold).

I have connected the plug to a belkin surge protector, so I dont expect a power surge to have caused any issue. What else could be wrong?

My entire media collection is not usable now, please help :(

Edit: Forgot to add the fact that I am not able to ping the IP address of the tonido plug either.

My replacement Tondiplug was delivered today, much thanks. But, there's a problem. The device won't boot off a USB flash drive with squeezeplug on it. I tried multiple USB flash drives, no luck. It does'nt even fall back to booting from internal flash, it just hangs there.

The device boots normally if I power it on without a USB device attached to it. It even detects it if I plug in the usb drive after the Tondio plug boots from internal flash.

I never had this issue with my old plug, what could be the problem?

Anyone else can help? Has anything changed with the current versions of the plug or the software on it?

Anyone? Bump.....

Can anyone confirm whether the current batch of Tonido plugs can boot from a USB flash disk?

It should. There is no difference we are aware of.
