Problem: Automated File Tranfers to Tonido?

Postby kkma » Sun Sep 13, 2009 10:33 am

I am trying to use a script to automate the transfer of file(s) to the tonido but am unable to do so. In spite of including the usual user name and password into the commands, appears the tonido does not recognize this and doesn't allow the connection (as in typical ftp type automated/scheduled file transfers that can be set up).

Is it possible for the tonido to be configured to accept automated files tranfers? This would be a significant feature to have?

What kind of script is it? What transport are you using? SFTP? HTTP?

I am using "curl" command for http uploads...

curl -k -T weather.jpg -u username:password http://scazhome.tonidoid.com:10001/ui/c ... .html#home

weather.jpg is the file name to upload

username:password is where a specific user and password is used

http is the complete address for the tonido

Any thoughts on how I can automate an upload to the tonido?

You can do this, but you need to use the right upload URL. Are you using TonidoPlug with websharePro?

In WebsharePro, first create a new share, add a user and set the users upload permissions.

Then the URL will be something like
http://<HOSTNAME>/app/websharepro/upload?directory=C:\Documents and Settings\madhan\Desktop\photos_test&dirname=photos/&sharename=photos

Where C:\Documents and Settings\madhan\Desktop\photos_test is the path, and photos is the share name.

Hope that helps.

You indicated that I can set an "upload" permisson for a user...

I do not see that option for any of my users that I already have assigned. Am I missing something?

Take a look at the screen shot: http://www.tonido.com/supportTonido_web ... to_a_share

Highlight the user you had selected to grant access, you will see a check box below.

The link to the image doesn't appear to be valid...

The returned window message says..."Sorry the page you are looking for is unavailable.
If you have previously bookmarked...."
