I just discovered Tonido yesterday and I really liked the philosophy (private p2p network).
I am trying to build it on my Fedora 11 or on my Ubuntu 9.04 (soon to be updated to the latest version), both of them 64 bit.
I might ask some stupid questions, sorry if that's the case.
I know it is recommended to use Ubuntu 8.04, 32bit.
My question are:
why use other library persisted in the source code (libcrypto++, poco, etc...) and not the system ones?
Is that because the libraries had to be patched or is that to force the usage of a specific version?
Wouldn't it be easier to detect the system libraries (ie in an automake/cmake way) instead?
For my own knowledge, what is the advantage of bjam in comparison with make or cmake?
