I think the TonidoPlug should include built in support for the following in the Web GUI:
OpenVPN/Proxy client/feature within Tonido Torrents to enable pseudonymized downloading.
Services that offer Torrent Proxy include http://www.BTGuard.com and http://www.Puxi.me, but there are others. The technology is not proprietary. TonidoPlug should also support the use of commercial OpenVPN or Proxy services. The feature must be configured so as to avoid interfering with the TonidoID service (not sure how). This would need to integrate DNS leak protection, and should be configurable via the Web GUI. With such a client, users can rest assured they are protected and (with OpenVPN) encrypted as they download/upload.
This feature (OpenVPN) would be good to have throughout the interface of the TonidoPlug.
Also, it would be great to be able to use the TonidoPlug as a OpenVPN/Proxy server so users can access the Internet from their own home IP when in geo-restricted or site banning countries.
Laptop <-> ISP <-> ~username~.tonidoid.com <-> ISP <-> TonidoPlug
Then TonidoPlug <-> ISP <-> DNS <-> Site
Even a low level of encryption like Blowfish 128 is suitable (encryption takes a lot of memory).
I'd recommend OpenVPN for the tunnels and support for different configurations.
This way users who travel can browse as if they were at home.
Hoping to see this in a future version (or at least the Torrent Proxy)!
Thanks. It's good to be able to communicate with the manufacturer on this forum!
