Reduce Tonido Desktop storage footprint

Postby Raaert » Fri Apr 05, 2013 10:48 am

Hi,

I believe many of us use Tonido Desktop purely as a server application, and because of that, i find it silly that my server has to keep 2 copies of every file.
1. copy in C:\users\username\documents\TonidoSync
2. copy in C:\users\username\AppData\Roaming\Tonido..blabla

I recall being told that the 2. copy is used as a database, to ensure data integrity and so on.
Is it possible to disable the 1. copy? That would reduce the storage footprint Tonido uses by 50%.

Thanks.

Good Question, so you never login into the server and manipulate the sync folder?

It's running on a VM with Windows Server 2012, no im not logging on that machine, ever.

What i sometimes do, is use the webinterface to upload a file or two - that is the only "server side file manipulation" i do.

OK, this is something we don't have a setting for, but we will consider your feedback for future releases. Thank you!
