I am running Tonido on a Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu.
External access to the Tonido pages is v e r y slow. It takes minutes to paint a page, etc. Sometimes I get this random error "Failed changing Language. Possible Browser Incompatibility: Changing back to English." and the Tonido page wont load
Any thoughts. Is this a bandwidth issue? A hardware issue?
I am obviously getting *TO* Tonido so it isnt a port forward issue.
Many thanks,
g

Re: Tonido very slow?
When you say external, do you mean outside your local network? If it is too slow, one reason could be your upload speed. Can you try it within your local network?
I am assuming you are running the latest version.
The other reason could be that Tonido is crashing. If you send us the log we can take a look.
Tonido runs pretty fast from the TonidoPlug which is a low-power device, so I am sure your dell is way faster than that.

Re: Tonido very slow?
Yes "external" to my local network.
It was faster from my internal network definitely (not blazing still noticeable delays) but definitely faster.
yes using the latest tonido software.
my upload on DSL is about 400-500 KB/s (and i probably am using some of it in torrents - but not much).
still cool software but definitely limits its use as a file sharing environment from outside my network

Re: Tonido very slow?
I use Tonido all day outside my network and with my measly 70 KBps actual upload rate I get Tonido to load in less than 10 secs and once it is loaded it is "blazing" fast (as it is all AJAX). So I am sure your upload rate is really good enough for Tonido.
It does look like there is something else going on.
It shouldn't take a minute.
Are you using port 80 for tonido access? Many ISPs block or throttle port 80 traffic.

Re: Tonido very slow?
Agree with others on slow speed. I have FIOS 25GB/s DL and 15GB/s UL, and trying to access my websharepro files, the download speed is only around 50KB/s. Lame.

Re: Tonido very slow?
Are you limiting your speed limit to 50 kbps in Tonido. Right click Tonido icon and see the speed limit
Re: Tonido very slow?
No, I checked and Tonido settings are set to "unlimited". And download speeds are still limited to 50KB/sec

Re: Tonido very slow?
Instead of "Unlimited", set to 100KBps and see if you get 100KBps. If yes, then we might need to add more speeds.
In the latest version, setting to unlimited only affects local network clients and not remote clients. This is to avoid problems where tonido pushes more data than what can be pulled by clients.

Re: Tonido very slow?
I tested it, and yes, when I set it to 100KB/s that's the DL speed I get. However, when I revert back to "Unlimited" it seems to push it back to only 50KB/s.

Re: Tonido very slow?
ok, we will add higher download speeds to possible speed options. Maybe 150, 200, 500.
