Thots HTML/CSS files for editing?

Postby pleitch » Fri Oct 02, 2009 2:09 pm

I snooped around my plug but couldn't locate anything that looked like I could make modifictions to Thots to change it's appearance.

I assume this is possible?

yes it is possible.

Please do any changes on your Tonido Desktop install instead of the plug to avoid screwing up your install, and it is faster too.

In your Tonido Desktop, go to plugins\thots directory, there should be a file called thots.zip, you can unzip it and the CSS images are in there for you to change.

After finishing your changes, you need to zip it back and put it there (and restart Tonido).

Only certain zip apps do the zipping correctly. We can give you the zip app (exe) to try if you want.

Excellent!

Yes, I would love the zip exe if you don't mind giving it to me.

What apps do you recommend to use to zip correctly?
I would really like to change the css for some attributes. I have the plugin.
Here is what I tried so far -
* Winscp the thots.zip to my desktop and extracted
* Modifed the style.css
* Zipped the directory back, uploaded the file back to it's original location
* Reloaded the plug with reboot command.

When the plug is back up... I got an error "opss somehting went wrong" under thots plugin.

Moved the original thots.zip file back... Now it's working again!

I need instructions on how to modify the css please.

What OS are you using? Can you use the zip.exe for Windows.

The only way I was able to modify the css file is by opening the zip file and drag the new style.css and save the zip. :D
I used winrar.

Thanks.

Yup... Added to style.css the following:

Code: Select all

pre, code {
 font-size: 1em;
 font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;
}
pre {
   background-position: #eee;
   border: 1px dotted #808080;
   font-size: 0.9em;
   padding: 1em;
   background: #eee;
   font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;
}
h2 {
   font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
   font-size: large;
   font-weight: normal;
   font-style: normal;
   font-variant: normal;
   color: #1E1D25;
   background: #eee;
   border: 1px solid #808080;
   padding: 1em;
}

Saved the file and dragged it into the winrar
All works.

Thanks again!

Very cool, are you interested in submitting a patch to Thots? It will be in the next official release.
