Changing public IP address every 5 days while in a hotel

Postby optofonik » Sun Sep 27, 2009 9:39 pm

The Westin hotel I'm staying in for the next month requires that I get a new public IP every five days. I set up a new profile when I checked in, ran the "Web Access Setup Wizard", and everything worked fine until I was required to get a new public IP address this evening. Now Tonido reports that I must manually forward the port but the hotel IT guys can't do that for me because the whole thing is administered by a third party contractor. How can I get around this weekly changing IP thing?

It is possible that the UPnP port forwarding fails after your Public IP changes.
The first time, the UPnP portforwarding does work and thats why it initially works.
After that, some routers don't like UPnP changing the configuration existing.

You can try changing Tonido's HTTP port to something else, restart and then doing UPnP configuration.
