Larger max size at direct sync

Postby mrmozart » Sat Oct 22, 2011 12:57 am

Hi,
I tried your solution and it looks very good except for one thing - why is there max size of all files when I have my own server without redirect? Even if I upgrade to Pro, 50GB is far from enough.

Unlike Tonido Remote access which is fully free to use, Tonido Sync has some size limts.

Tonido's sync works irrespective of where the client is connected from, in the LAN or on the Internet. The sync solution uses the same technology used by Tonido Remote access so when the sync occurs over the internet, the data is transferred over our Relay servers. This uses up bandwidth on our servers, so we restrict how much sync is allowed for free and how much is allowed via our TonidoPro solution.

Thanks for the quick reply! So it relays even if I have turned relay off? Wouldn't it be possible to implement a solution where it doesn't relay at all? I have my own server, domain, port forwarding and all such.

Like I said, even with Pro and 50GB it is too small for me.

It doesn't use our servers if you don't use relay.
We haven't released a solution for that.

+1 for droping or rise Up limits for Plug-with-Pro-Users, where relay-Service is switched off.

I concur.
please negate the limit when not using relay.
preferably so that I do not need to turn off relay on the plug itself so that my friends can still log on with the tonidoid url

It is really hard to come up with a solution that works reliably under all conditions and is easy to use.
