[SOLVED] bypass Tonido's DynDNS & setup server-side acnts

Postby thedoctor » Tue Jun 02, 2009 12:25 am

Hello -

In the interest of centralized administration, I'd like to request the option to bypass the reliance on Tonido's DNS & use my own existing w/ it's SSL certs. If this becomes an issue of user authentication, I would ask the ability to setup accounts also.

Understanding this would impact the p2p-nature of Tonido, may I be as bold to suggest p2p-functions could be toggled if the above "island"-configured is chosen?

Thank you,

You can do this today.

If you disable "Tonido Network", you are turning off Tonido's Dynamic DNS and P2P connection management. You are then free to use your own DynDNS provider and access Tonido using the URL provided by that provider.

There is no issue with Tonido user authentication, everything is local, you don't rely on us for anything. It is truly a "island" config.

Say you have Tonido running on 10001, and you have dynamic DNS say at island.dyndns.com, then you can access your tonido using

http://island.dyndns.com:10001
