SSL License

Postby devbloke » Thu May 06, 2010 10:07 am

I have installed Tonido on my own hardware and I must say that I could not be more satisfied! Now I would like to add more security and I\'ve seen that there is some license that I must buy to have SSL.
My question is, where can I buy such license? I\'ve seen the instructions how to install it but not where to buy it...

Thank you in advance for your answer.

I tried before :D the problem is that this product is not available!
You can see in the picture a print screen of what I see in the website.

I loaded the page from google cache and it was there, but not on the current page!

My mistake. We removed it, as it wasn't needed if Tonido Relay is enabled. If you have Tonido relay enabled, directly access using https

I was checking the configs (Settings -> Network) and relay was already active and SSL inactive. When I try to activate SSL I get the following message:
"To enable SSL, you need a valid Tonido SSL license. To purchase a license,
please goto Tonido Store."

I tried also to connect trough https (default port 443) and nothing. Am I using the wrong port?

BTW, I don't know if it matters but I'm using the linux version (ubuntu).

You don't need to do anything. Simply use https://john.tonidoid.com to get SSL access.
Please keep relay active for this to work.

So...if I want SSL, I'm forced to use your relay? I'd much prefer using my own setup. How do I go about setting up SSL without using your relay?

Yes, we offered it originally, but it introduces so much paths for us to test and maintain. All our client apps (iPhone, Android, Web browser) and so on need to be tested under this condition as well. So we only offer via relay.

That's a real bummer, I'd love to use the app, but without the ability to install my own ssl cert I'm probably going to have to drop the app.

SSL License

This app is a promising replacement for those of us who can't store data in the US. My challenge is in knowing

1. my data (and authentication information) is flowing _securely_ between my host and my iPad.
2. No US company (being subject to US privacy laws) has custody or control of my unencrypted data.

This is for patient records in a medical practice. By law, this data must remain in Canada.
