security and privacy

Postby beany » Wed Feb 08, 2017 11:49 am

How private is Tonido?
It strikes me that with data passing through Tonido servers then that data could be read either over the network or in a server. Also as Tonido has access to ALL the files on the computer rather than a predefined folder then at browsed filenames if not more can be accessed by using the right tools and knowhow without the users knowledge.
Thanks

We have been providing Tonido since 2008 (more than 11 years now).

We don't touch your data. The data passes through our servers but it is encrypted and we actually don't even store your account's passwords in our servers. See our privacy policy at http://www.tonido.com/privacy/

You can also always disable relay and port forward directly if you need to.

Thanks for the confirmation. I did not know about tonido until recently. I have been a long time user of pogoplug but found then untrusworthy and insecure. Their demise suggests others did too I guess.
