can TonidoSync Client detect local network LAN

Postby bartplessers » Sun Nov 20, 2016 6:22 pm

Hello,

Running
TonidoServer v7.83.0.27601
TondioSync Client v7.83.0.27601 on Windows 10 64bit

When client and server are on same LAN, I noticed that upload from client --> to server still goes over internet.
Direct connection between both nodes is possible

Is there a mechanism that TonidoClient can detect both endpoints are on same network segment and make a direct connection.
It would be faster and not consuming my internet volume...

Is this possible?

Kind regards,
B

Tonido sync2  app creates a special folder on each of your computers (called the "tonidosync" folder). Simply adding files to this sync folder will automatically sync the file to your Sync folder, which means you can open it from any other computer, smartphone, or tablet that also has Tonido installed.
This is useful to keep an offline copy of your Tonido documents and work on them when you are not connected to the internet. After editing and working on files, when you connect back to the internet, the Tonido sync2 app will upload the changes you had made automatically to the Tonido server.

as of now, only the above is possible.

thanks for your query. we have forwarded the same to our technical team.

Generally, sync can detect if it is in the same LAN and use the local connection in that case.
If it is not working then possible reason is that they are in different subnets in the network.
ie 192.168.1.x vs 192.168.0.x
