Tonido Profile

Postby marquis » Sun Apr 04, 2010 11:21 pm

I searched the forum and couldn't find anything related to this question.

I run Ubuntu and have the Tonido suite running to test it out. I very much like it so recently I ordered the plug. When the plug arrives I'll be using it instead of hosting from my PC. Will I be able to re-use the user name I use right now on my PC? Is there a way to transfer my settings?

I'd like to, at least retain my URL that I use now for access to my plug. Don't mind inputting users and settings again.

Thanks.

Yes, it is possible. Just copy the profile directory into your plug.

great thanks - i'm assuming the profile folder lives on the usb drive? if not how i browse to the internal storage to copy my existing profile folder?
i expect a lot will become clearer when the device arrives and i plug it in.

The profile data lives on the flash. The user data for backups and torrent lives on the USB drive

The flash is accessible via the "Explorer App".
But it is better to copy it using a SFTP program like FileZilla in Windows.

What is the path of the tonido profile? I'd like to change the directory of it so it goes into the folder that gets backed up.

btw great job w/ the new backup app!! It's working like a charm. Now my plug backs up nightly to my time capsule :-)

From the documentation....

Code: Select all

    * If you are using Linux, your data is stored under the following directory. Backup that entire directory.

~/tonido

    * If you are using MacOSX, your data is stored under the following directory. Backup that entire directory.

~/tonido

    * If you are using TonidoPlug, your data is stored under the following directory. Backup that entire directory.

/root/app/tonido/approot

None of those directories are on my Sheevaplug Tonido installation.

If i go under my settings, it says my profile is stored here:

Code: Select all

approot/profiles/kevhanson

I don't know where approot is. If I click the "Open Location" button, I get the "function not available when connected remotely" issue. If they mean remote by not being on the same machine, then the error is accurate. If remote means i'm outside of my home network, then the error is not correct. Maybe it could be worded better? Thanks!

Sorry for the long post... I'm just trying to figure out where my user account is stored so I can back that folder up!

Sorry, but I didn't know you had it on a SheevaPlug. The default location is probably under your user directory.
