Re: Installing on a server

Installing Tonido and data on a virtual private server in the "cloud" sounds at odds with what you like about Tonido - "You're data is safely at home with you". You're data is going to be at the hosts' site. I think backup is one of the services that the host should be performing...

Re: TonidoPlug as FTP Client.

The wget command is available on the plug. It supports the FTP protocol, as well as others.

Re: Synch folder?

TonidoPlug mounts a connected USB drive as a SAMBA share. If your computer is connected to the local network, you can get to the network share. I'm not much of Linux user, but I would guess whatever flavor of file explorer that you use will work with network shares. Search the Internet for a Linux a...

Re: Backup my Plug attached drive.

Does CrashPlan allow you to backup a network share? The TonidoPlug automatically makes your attached drive into a network share. Setup CrashPlan to backup that network share. You should also backup your Tonido profile found in the plug's internal drive. Use Tonido Backup to backup your profile to th...

Re: Connect Plug Wirelessly

The plug is meant to be put in a closet, connected to a router. My plug is connected to my wireless router in an out-of-the way place and I rarely see it. There is no keyboard and no display attached. I connect from my laptop wirelessly to the plug via a web browser and use the Tonido apps. You like...

Re: can login locally but not remotely w/ssh - access denied

I SSH to my plug using DynDNS or the router IP address. I actually did not realize we can SSH though the Tonido relay. I see it makes a connection. However, just like pkmorrison, login fails with Access Denied. I suspect that we are connecting to the tonidoid.com server instead of our plugs.

Re: Drive remains full in admin

I don't know about the disk full problem, but maybe these steps will get things working again. ⋅ Disable the apps that use the external drives (all of them?). ⋅ Remove the external drives. ⋅ Use Tonidoplug admin -> Disk tab -> Cleanup Space. ⋅ Use Tonidoplug a...

Re: plug non-responsive

No luck. If it was the power supply problem that others have experienced, I would expect no LED to light. It's not getting hot, so the processor must not be running. The Tonidoplug hardware is pretty much a black box - not really user serviceable - dump it and get a new one. Though bypassing the pow...

Re: Disk1 Part1 renamed Disk2Part1

I'm surprised you're seeing this behavior. The Tonidoplug was changed to handle multiple hard drives so each drive mounts to the same location in the file system (i.e. disk1part1, disk2part1) when the Tonidoplug is restarted, or when the drives are unplugged and replugged. The developers may be inte...
