SMB sharing still happening even when SMB not enabled

Hi tonido, I have created my own /etc/samba/smb.conf file which I have added my own share nodes to it. (I added the valid users = X option for authentication) This works as expected, but when I connect/disconect a HDD the smb.conf is re-written and my 'Valid users' line is removed. If a HDD is plugg...

IE and Firefox have the same behaviour. They both dont complete the transfer.

Through the internet, if the connection gets reset, the huge download won't work.

Hi Madhan,

This is on my Local LAN. The URL's all have my local IP address in it (in my case, 192.168.3.120:10001/blah)

Large files dont finish downloading

Hi tonedo, Using the Explorer, I select a 2.2GB file which starts to download... (Backtrack 4.2 VM tar.bz2 file) Firefox reports 'Unknown time remaining' and goes all the way to 2.2GB; at that point the network traffic stops but Firefox still shows 'Unknown Time remaining' - it never ends the transf...

Local images in Thots

Hi All, When adding images in to a Thot page, the Thot script uses the remotes filesystem to attach the image. In my case it was the TonidoPlug. I have to upload pictures to the Plug and then use Thots attach image functions. Is there a method whereby I can select an image on my local machine and it...

Re: Images in Thots...

I have the feeling that this is a really dumb question, but I just can't figure it out... How do I put an image in Thots? I looked through the rest of the Thots forum and it seems to be possible, but all I get is a line saying "attached image..." and no image. What do I do? Thanks, Eric I...

different file sizes for same file

Hi All I have an ISO file which is 4544528384 bytes in size. Torrent says its 4.5GB - which is correct if you divide by (1000*1000*1000) - but the most commonly accepted definition of a kilobyte is not 1000, its 1024. The Actual size of the file is 4.3GB (and that is what Firefox reports) In Explore...
