Re: Help on my new tonido plug

4. How to automount the partitions on the hard disk. Just realised that I lose all my disk mounts if the tonidoplug is rebooted or powered off The most safety way is to use the UUID of the partition. Connect to your Plug via SSH. Show up our UUIDs: sudo ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid This lists all your p...

Re: Notes on booting plug with large HDDs > 2TB

Yippiieeeeeee!!!!! I've got this working!     Hail to the King, Baby! The Trick is, to move the GPT Link in the MBR-Table to the 2nd partition (Solution Nr. 2 in my previous posts). But the "gptsync"-Tool adds the GPT-Link everytime to the 1st ...

Other (Better) Plug Versions

The TonidoPlug is based on the sheevaplug right? Si i'm wondering, why you can get the Plug only in One Version, when you could get the sheevaplug in other Version: http://www.newit.co.uk/shop/products.php?cat=5 Why don't you sell tonidoplug in other Version? In my case the "eSata Multi-boot&qu...

Re: Booting TonidoPlug using USB Drive

Good to hear that it's working now. Copy your profile to the stick is also descriped in the tutorial. But here again in short terms: 1. Boot your Plug from the internal memory. 2. attach the USB drive 3. SSH into the Plug 4. control, if the USB-Drive gets mounted (and where it's mounted) mount 5. st...

Re: Booting TonidoPlug using USB Drive

Hmm, okay looks like a regular good ol' MBR Partition-Table. I think you've copied over the Systemfiles to the 1st partition? You can see the Steps here: http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2217 (only the 1st part) Other ideas: Is the disk plugged directly to the Plug or through a U...

Re: Notes on booting plug with large HDDs > 2TB

[*]What about to add an "extended" partition to the MBR and add GPT to that?
Possible? (Is "extended" working this way?)

No, that won't work.
The "extended" partition in this case would be a >2TB, too.
So we can remove possible solution #4 from the list.

Re: Notes on booting plug with large HDDs > 2TB

So after some googling i found that you can customize the uBoot process through an "Serial-Console-Cable". And here i found exactly, what i'm searching for: Now we are ready to reboot. Type reboot and wait for the Marvell count down to appear and hit any key to stop the autoboot. Now at th...
