Re: How to purchase SSL License

Any news, when the SSL License will be back in the store? I saw that the Option is still available in the Settings and still say to get a license from the store. Or are you still going to disable SSL? Then what about that: http://www.codelathe.com/blog/index.php/2009/09/15/announcing-ssl-support-for...

Re: Newbie question

Hi! If you want to build a RAID System, you should use this: http://www.raidsonic.de/de/products/soho-raid.php?we_objectID=6856 (sorry, this is a german site) There is also a 4 HDD Version available. You don't need a USB-Hub and you don't need 2 USB Enclosures and your getting a real Hardware RAID (...

Re: How to purchase SSL License

The reason is simply testing. If we have self-signed ssl it increases all testing we have to perform. That's a very bad reason. We'ra talking about peaple wich are storing theit personal Data on an device wich has an insecure connection over the Internet! And the only reason is because you're to la...

Re: How to purchase SSL License

Yes, we will drop it. Please use relay if you want to use SSL, it is available through that. You must be Joking :!: This must be a kind of bad April 1st Joke :!: You want to force us to use the Relay, which gives a slow connection (and which is even not forced to use SSL). Or store our PERSONAL dat...

Re: Connect with SFTP Out of LAN

It doesn't look like I need to disable the relay service, is there any reason it should be? No, it's not necessary to disable the relay service for SSH/SFTP. But It's much faster, if you Up-/Download large files to/from the Plug from external networks or listening to music on your Mobile. I'm notic...

Re: Connect with SFTP Out of LAN

I've a similar setup here. One cheep DSL-Modem/Router from my provider and a Netgear Router behind it. Here's how i've configured it (i'm not having a DMZ): Router1: Configured static IP for LAN Port1 (192.168.1.1); Forwarded port 22, 80, 10001 to the static ip of Router2(192.168.1.2) Router2: Stati...

Re: Connect with SFTP Out of LAN

OK - just to clarify things. I assume out of the box the plug boots to internal flash so I should just be able to follow the instructions I found here http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=312 before following your instructions. Is that correct? Yes, that's right. I believe I've setu...

Re: Connect with SFTP Out of LAN

Note: You shouldn't do this, if you Plug boots from the internal flash! Please follow one of the descriptions to Boot from USB first! If something goes wrong you can brick your plug permanently and lose Guaranty! So be care full!!!! First login to the plug via SSH as root: ssh root@yourip Replace &...

Re: Connect with SFTP Out of LAN

You have to configure your router to forward port 22 to your tonido's IP.
Also you should configure ssh on the plug to not allow direct root access for security reasons.

Re: what hard disk format suitable for a Mac and Tonido user

No, HFS+ will not work with the plug.
The best is to use the ext3 format.
DiskUtility on the Mac does not support ext3.
Best way is to format the disk on a Linux machine (maybe from a livedisk).
Or you can format it directly on the plug via a SSH connection.
