Migrating to PI

A few days back my TonidoPlug2 burned due to a shorts circuit. However the data in the attached SATA is fine. My SATA has 2 partitions - 1 bootable with tonido image and another one to store data alone. Both partitions don't have any issue. Now I have bought a Raspberry PI2 B. I know it doesn't boot...

How to setup VPN Client in TonidoPlug

I need to route traffic to and from my TonidoPlug to go through a VPN connection. How do I configure a VPN client in the plug? I tried steps from the Internet but I am always stuck with "FATAL: Module ppp_mppe not found."

Does someone here know how I can configure a VPN client on my plug?

Re: using sata disk from usb boot

Yes. I read somewhere that SATA disks can be attached or removed when the system is up. So you need to first remove the SATA disk and then boot the plug and login from internal flash or USB drive. Once you have booted confirm that you can login via SSH. Then while the plug is still on, attach the SA...

Re: My SATA drive fails to boot. Need to recover data

If you just want to copy data off the SATA, you should be able to plug it into a caddy and into any USB port on a computer. The caddy allows the drive to be read, but wouldn't boot an OS as it wouldn't have the hardware needed. Hi dglp, Thanks, but that's not the solution I am looking for. I am loo...

Re: Setting up Key Based Authentication

This has nothing to do with tonido itself. The underlying Debian is doing this job. You need a syn-dns for your router. Make a port forwarding to your tonido (use non standard port). Setup an additional user and allow it to login with a key. Now your tonidobox is an exposed host. If you have a rout...

Setting up Key Based Authentication

I use my plug from different locations. I might need to connect to SSH via putty from a remote location as well. I am concerned about security and hence I was thinking of implementing Key Based authentication and blocking password based login. Will this affect normal operation of Tonido? If i lock i...

Re: System Time Keeps Changing

I tried to use ntpdate but doesnt look like it is working properly - it works when I give nptdate <servername> but when I am not giving the server name in the ntpdate command, I am getting the below error, though /etc/ntp.conf has the server details: 24 Jun 00:27:20 ntpdate[1316]: no servers can be ...
