Re: Reset TP2 to Original State?

Your best bet is to boot from USB by creating a drive with the rootfs. From there you can mount the flash and undo any damage you have done.

Re: TonidoPlug2 topkick1281p2-001-004-20101214 kernel .confi

If/when you get a response, if you could post the source and config, that'd be great! The default kernel is woefully inadequate. I have experienced kernel crashes related to the Marvell NIC card and there is no ppp module (i.e. no option to host a VPN server). No support for POSIX extended attribute...

Re: TonidoPlug2 Network speed sucks :(

scp encrypts the data for transfer. This involves heavy CPU use. Since the Tonido2 has a lousy CPU, my guess is that you're saturating the CPU - not the I/O layer. Try using an uncompressed transfer mechanism, samba or other, and see if you get faster speeds. FTP is ideal because FTP has no transfer...

Anybody successfully build an updated kernel for Tonido2?

I've built a kernel from the various online sources. It builds fine but when I install it and execute it, it hangs on 'Booting the kernel'

Has anybody had success updating the kernel and did they have to do anything special to u-boot in order to get it to work?

It's different because Tonido1 runs at 1.2 Ghz while Tonido2 runs at 800 Mhz :(

Re: Can I install a different Linux distro on TonidoPlug 2?

You can install whatever you want. Tonido provides a rootfs with debian squeeze that you can install on a USB/SATA drive and then boot from that. From there you can edit the distro as you see fit. I've disabled the tonido software on my device and just run my own stuff. It'll be up to you to figure ...

Re: NZB

sabnzbd was too slow for me. I downloaded the latest version and installed all the pythons modules, but it's maxed the CPU easily. I ended up downloading nzbget and compiled it. It runs great. At full download speed (3.4 Mbps) it only uses 70% of the CPU. I installed nzbgetweb and configured that wi...

Re: Tonidoplug2 - how to mount internal flash when USB boot

Thanks.

Prior posts show ubiattach with -m 2, but on TonidoPlug2 you need to use -m 3.

TonidoPlug2 topkick1281p2-001-004-20101214 kernel .config

Could you provide this file so that we can properly build the kernel?
