Private social network, alternative to FaceBook

The Japan double whammy of earthquake followed by Tsunami got our family talking about how would contact each other to say we are OK and our location and situation. We have avoided Facebook like the plague, there is way too much information on FB and even if I keep my information to a minimum, there...

Re: Running Tonido software on HP Thin Client

Hi, I tried a couple other options tonight, same result, Tonido can't load code.dll. Tried: - installing on external harddrive plugged into thin client. - tried portable version of Tonido installed on external harddrive. I'd buy a Plug but as I've posted in another thread, the shipping cost to Canad...

Affirmative, it's XP embedded. Is Tonido looking for core.dll in a certain folder, perhaps c:\Program Files\?

I'll try installing Tonido on an external drive and see what happens.

Re: Running Tonido software on HP Thin Client

Tonido runs on systems with 64 MB ram, 200 MHz CPUs so resources aren't a constraint. It is probably some component missing in XP embedded that Tonido depends upon. If you get us the tonido.log file, we can figure out why it is failing. Hi, Following is the text from the log file. Tonido installs f...

Running Tonido software on HP Thin Client

Hi, Anyone try running the Tonido software on a thin client? Example of a thin client http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12082_na/12082_na.HTML I tried on two HP thin clients, the better equipped T5710 had 512 RAM, 512 Flash drive, and embedded Windows XP. The Tonido software will install...

Re: Backup sync option?

...when I discovered that no regular invoice is delivered, and no hardware warranty exists.... As far as I can tell, the Tonido software to run on your PC is a free license. Their business is based on selling the plug and premium software. So there will be no monthly invoice as far as I can see. I'...

Re: Backup sync option?

the big problem is synchronization is that between two machines machines it's easy, between three is pretty F'N difficult. a simple problem is what to do when a single file is changed on one machine and its changes are propagated to all others up before the change cycle finishes, the file changes o...

Re: Backup sync option?

Hi, I'm brand new to the concept of Tonido and the idea of a home based file server plus apps. I'm on the verge of buying a Tonido Plug. Synching certain folders is a deal breaker for me. I currently use Windows Live something or-other (Microsoft's product line is so confusing with similar named ser...
