thanks, i went back and read again. someone on page 2 post 8 is having the exact same issue. but i don't see anything about fixing it in the entire thread. so i should reword my original question instead of asking if someone else has run into this problem i should have asked has anyone fixed this pr...

i have been booting off a 4gb flash drive from a usb 2.0 hub for some time. however if i have my 2tb usb drive plugged into the hub at the same time the plug boots from internel storage only. has anyone else run into this?

if your trying to boot from the 1TB usb drive it's not going to work. i've found and i think it's mentioned in the forum elsewhere that you have to use a small thumb drive for the new OS and then you can connect large usb drives for storage.

you can set an folder to host torrents or the watch list. you just change the folder paths in the torrent config file. Also what type of USB thumb drive are you using? i've noticed i had to use a 4GB one for it to work and if i was going through a hub it didn't always work. it also usually had to be...

i gave up, i'm just using it as a little torrent server/nas and i installed my own debian and torrent software on a usb drive. little guys been working great!

you need to check the permissions on the folders transmission runs from and downloads too. normally you wouldn't set a folder like this but since this isn't a critical device running financial software i just set the perms to 777

i have it setup in the config file to ask for a password to get to the web interface, i then forward port 8080 from my router to the port transmission uses. i then just access my public ip or cable modem ip from outside my house, so i can add shows anytime and where. router setup example 8080 to int...

That is correct, I have a USB hub plugged in so that my thumb drive is bootable and I also have a 2tb drive plugged in that transmission downloads to and is shared out on the network for my boxee boxes.

part of the setup makes sure it automatically starts when the plug is turned on. it has it's own interface via a web browser and doesn't integrate with the plug's web interface. the web interface works from my iphone just fine.
