"Getting a blank page when I start Tonido"

Please make sure you are running a Tonido compatible OS. For the list goto our download page
If you are running Tonido supported OSs, then try these tips:

1. Disable your antivirus, firewall software. See instructions here for conifiguring Windows Firewall
2. Try starting Tonido using the Tonido Compatibility Shortcut
3. When the browser opens, Hit Refresh or reload
4. Try a different browser FireFox for example
5. If all of them don't work, please open Start Menu, Hit Run and type "%APPDATA%\tonido\logs"
6. Post a question and upload your log in our forum

Get "Cannot Communicate Error" after logging into Tonido Profile

Tonido requires Cookies to be enabled: Make sure you have enabled cookies in your browser

Problems with IE8

Please use Compatibility mode in IE8 to make all Tonido features work. We will be fixing IE8 issues shortly.

Profile creation is failing

1. Check if the user name you are requesting is not already taken. Try another user name
2. You need to be online to create a Tonido profile.
3. Check if your firewall is preventing access to Tonido Directory Server using TCP 24465. Many corporate firewalls might prevent access via this port

"Remote login not working"

There is a bug currently where if you have a special character in the remote login question, trying to login doesn't work. Please change your Remote login question to not have special characters. Fix will be in the next build.

"Jukebox streaming is not working"

Jukebox streaming is currently broken due to a bug introduced in a recent build. So setting any streaming setting will still try to play the full song. Fix will be in the next build.

"Not able to create profile via proxy"

Solution: We are currently working on a solution to enable profile creation through proxy.
Workaround: Create a profile from a computer that doesn't use proxy and then transfer over the profile directory to the machine that uses proxy.

Get "Unable to find bootstrap.dll"

If you see an error about not able to find "bootstrap.dll", you can workaround that error by running tonido.exe directly from "%APPDATA%\tonido" directly. We are working to fix the problem now.

"Not able to re-use deleted profile"

If you delete your profile, you will lose the ability to reuse that ID (forever).
If you are trying to re-install Tonido on a different computer and would like to re-use the profile you created on the older one, please make sure to make a backup. So, after installing Tonido on the new computer, you could copy over the Data directory from the older one.

"Why is there no download for my favorite Linux distro? Mac OSX on PowerPC?"

In making the decision to go with 3 main OSes, we had to cut some corners. We picked the best option in all three and went with them. We figured the important thing is to release it and then slowly getting it right. Besides, how many products do you know that release on all 3 OSes on day one? We are actually proud that we pulled it off. You should see the number of machines we have to get it going.

"I get GWT Exception popup messages occasionally. Am I doing something wrong?"

We have noticed this issue occasionally in Firefox browser. It is purely an UI issue, just refresh the page and you should be fine. Please be assured that this will not affect your Tonido performance in any shape or form. We are working to resolve this issue.
