Can the Tonido serve up web apps? Does it have any server side web app language support, like PHP?

Currently no. We started work on adding PHP scripting support. But we dont have any timeline for that availability.

If you are going to use a TonidoPlug, you could run LAMP inside it and serve PHP apps on it.

I just ordered the Plug. Where does it say how to do this? Can you just ssh in to the plug, and apt-get all the apps like on any other ubuntu box?

You should be able to do that. We don't officially support that however. There is SSH support out of the box and apt-get will work.
