I have attempted to mount and share 2 USB devices from the admin area (DISKS). The small External drop-down sees both drives but nothing happens. I tried mounting the devices manually using

mount device /dev/sdb /media/usb1

I am able to access the files/dirs over the web using sftp with no problem.

Any ideas what I need to do to fix the problem.

Looks like your webshare application is disabled. Try enabling that from the tonido admin UI.
BTW, once you mount the USB harddisk, are you able to access it.

Hi Tuxedo

I have the webshare pro activated. I am able to access the drives using sftp... rsync... and explorer within Tonido. Backup does not work and my Plug Admin does not link to the drives although it sees them and I can view their mount 'name' in the drop-down.

It is all very strange.

Can you please post a screenshot of your plugadmin disks tab showing the problem that you have with disk mounting.

I'm having the same issue (minus the weird error messages he is showing above). Basically the drive refuses to mount. Here are some screenshots. In my case, the drive is formatted NTFS however the same applies on FAT16 and FAT32 formats.

Both disk1part1 and disk1part2 in the Explorer screenshot contain Tonido's webapp folders... I'm not sure why that is. Disk2part1 is the actual drive...

I've also reformatted a few times and run chkdsk as well as disk warrior on my mac. The drives are in great working condition and the hard drive itself is brand new and functions great when connected directly to my mac or pc.

Your formatting is fine. Its just that the partition table might be at fault.
Can you please post the output of the command:
Code:
 # parted -s /dev/sdb print
.
You should not be having gpt partition table type. If you have gpt then you might into run into something like this.

Yes, GPT will create a small FAT32 partition in the beginning of the drive which might only show a little bit of space and not the rest on non-Mac computers. If you still have access to the Mac, open up Disk Utility and Partition (not Erase) the drive, go to Options and select Master Boot Record instead of GUID or the Apple partition tables.

So other than xbox streaming and some reporting and whatnot, what good does it do to have the drive "mount"? Currently it's not mounted but functioning perfectly in all other aspects?
