It is pretty simple to do what your web server is doing normally, basically stuff data as fast it can into the TCP pipe. But that will disrupt your internet connection for all others within a home or small business if someone is downloading files remotely. So we try hard not to fully load up the network.

We will look into this and will let you know how much speeds we get.

for us actually it would work since right now using the finder it takes like 10 seconds to move 1.5GB file from one mac to the other and since we have a switch I believe the other macs on the network will not be affected (i think)

is there a way the software can figure out if the other mac is on the same network ? may like bonjour ? or may be it could be inserted another button in the network menu like SPEED IP FILTER where you can setup a range of IP in which you get unlimited speed as much as you possibly can

Well good news. We looked into this and your wishes have been granted.
Tonido downloads over LAN will average about 10 MB/s.

We are now looking at the upload to fix the memory constraint.

I just tried on the latest Tonido, and I am seeing 14mb + on a 700 mb avi file.
