How often does the Tonido dynamic DNS service update?

Im using my server with VPN, and Tonido updates the ip/username before the VPN connects, which gives the wrong IP adresse on my tonidoid.com username.

What would happen if Tonido started before the ethernet driver was loaded / internet connection was made?

. If you are starting VPN, then can you not start (or restart) Tonido once it is established?

You didn't answer my question :).

I know i can just make Tonido start delayed, so the VPN gets connected before Tonido starts.

My problem is, if my VPN disconnects and connects again, and i get assigned a new IP address - How often does Tonido update the dynamic DNS? Only on startup?

What is your Tonido version? The earlier timing was 6 hours, but it has been changed in the newer versions

The version you got still has an update interval of 6 hours. It will be changing in the new release.

So the way it works is

Every 6 hours it will update the IP with the domain server.

Earlier (Pre-3.0 and 2.5), there was an issue where a disconnect with the domain server will be ignored and will only do the update in 6 hour interval (So there can be cases where the Tonidoserver is not accessible because the IP has changed).
This has been changed to attempt to update every 10 minutes until the domain server connection is established.

In your case, it looks like the 6 hours will apply (since there is no communication problem with domain server and you Tonido server).
