Yes, I have been. Do you mean I need to log in as a different user from each client I connect to the plug?

The TonidoPlug, Tonido Desktop Software etc are called servers. Each server needs a different account to access it.
Tonido Plug -> http://A.tonidoID.com
Tonido Desktop Software on Mac OSX -> http://B.tonidoid.com

You can't have A on both servers. It won't work at all.

Clients include sync clients, WebDAV and Tonido Drive software, Those connect to one server.

Ok - each Tonido server must have it's own ID A.tonidoid.com; B.tonidoid.com - that much is clear.

I however, only have one server, which is the Tonidoplug. It's on the same local network as my Mac. I am unable to access it in a browser via http://A.tonidoid.com because it gives me a Tonido page with the error message:

"Tonido Enabled Device Unavailable
The requested device is currently unavailable. The user's Tonido enabled device could be switched off or there could be a network connectivity problem. Download Tonido to your computer and get instant, access to all your files through mobile phones.
For questions or help, please see Tonido support"

I can however access it by pointing the browser at http://192.168.1.96:10001/ui/core/index.html#home.

So there seems to be some broken DNS link. What's that about?

Prior to buying the tonidoplug, I did have the Tonido server software installed on my mac and was operating that as a Tonido server, but I've removed it, as far as I'm aware. Perhaps you can point me to some instructions for complete removal from a Mac.

My other problem is that whilst I can mount and access the Tonidoplug in Mac's Finder, I can't get WebDAV contol from the Mac of my Tonidoplug files. If I try to manipulate these files (e.g. move/delete), I get the attached screenshot request for a password, with the username filled in already as my real name, not even my username on the Mac. No combination of username/password - either the Mac combo or the Tonidoplug combo - satisfy this request and allow me to change files.

I'm at a complete loss to know what's going on here.

There might be two problems in your setup, so let's first get one issue resolved before we move to another.

Go to settings->Network->Relay. What is the status shown there?
Can you disable and re-enable the Relay checkbox?

Enable Relay is checked.

Status reads 'inactive'

If I uncheck and re-check 'Enable Relay', or if I set up web access again, It produces a red error message on a yellow background reading 'Invalid Credentials1'

So did you try to do account recovery using this account on another desktop?
If yes, then this account will no longer work you will have to create a new account and use that.

Ok, the thing's a mess. I tried to log in and asked to change my password, and though it says it's successfully changed my password and sent me an email of the new password, no email has arrived. I see from this forum that others have experienced the same. It seems to be very easy with Tonido to get into an unrecoverable mess.

You say I need to set up a new account. How do I go about that?

Actually, what's needed here is a simple process to scrub all previous activity both on the Tonidoplug and at your servers, and start again. And it ought to be possible to use the same username on re-starting, though I see that other have asked the same question and have been told that old account names become unusable. Not good.

Ok, I seem to have sorted it. Here's how:

I re-installed the Tonidoplug operating system following:

http://www.tonido.com/communitywiki/dok ... ootfsplug2

I note that this doesn't destroy any date on a connected USB drive, which is a relief. It does however require first of all to install the Tonido OS onto a pendrive, so that the Tonidoplug can be re-booted into this drive. The OS on the plug itself can then be replaced. Once this is done, the Tonidoplug can be accessed from a web browser, and there is an opportunity to recover my old account. In this instance, a recovery code is sent to me by email, and I duly received it. I can now access the Tonidoplug using my original user account and password. It has also solved the problems I have had with mounting the Tonidoplug files locally on OSX. Fingers crossed, I've resolved matters.

I'm going to add, though, that all this faffing around is not for the faint-hearted. If I didn't have a half decent knowledge of the workings of Linux and the command line, there's no way I'd have persevered with the capers I've had to get this thing working.

I know you guys at Tonido are working hard, and you've got a limited budget, but may I suggest that, in terms of usability, you think MAC!
