Hi,

First off I have Tonidoplugs MkI and MkII in various locations in the UK (using different ISPs) that I have purchased myself. There are others that I have Admin access to for those that have purchased on my recommendation and I set them up so they could use them without having to config them but just plug them in to their own router and be good to go. That works well…

The essential part that isn’t working well at the moment are frequent outages or whatever problem it is with your Tonido server, when ‘Relay’ is required, that appears to be OK and then not OK without any mention of it in this forum or even on your home page. That is now becoming a very serious problem, and a more frequent state of affairs.

Tonido app on iPhone/iPad and maybe other products (wrong place to post but it is connected)
Some folks use these apps to access details on their plug.
What I can’t understand is why does the app crash when the Tonido server might not be well but there is still local content on the device that has previously been downloaded? That doesn’t need that connection to the Tonido server to make it useable but the app fails to launch and just keels over. That makes the product unusable due to a Tonido server failure. That is crazy.
Why can’t the application simply flag up a message saying that connection to Tonido HQ was unsuccessful and let you continue to make do with what you to hand stored locally?

I still have doubts of my own about how Tonido address and prioritise the importance of security in their product, customer’s data and details, as I have seen no major changes or have been informed of any. Security has to come first as if it doesn’t it makes your product very weak and that is what I am sensing.

Very Unprofessional are two words that cross my mind for a product that works as promised, if all the needed bits also work. Unfortunately they don’t and they do need looking at.

Is it just me or does security not come first as an importance to others too?

I am well pleased to see that the Torrent App still hasn’t made a re appearance as it caused me problems and related to nothing I did my end, apart from performing a normal update.

My words are honest and if I have made any mistakes I will try and correct them if possible.

Thanks for the feedback.
As mentioned here : http://www.tonido.com/support/display/docs/Home
We put all updates of server outages at http://twitter.com/tonidostatus

If there is any outage, that you are experiencing that is not explicitly mentioned as downtimes, then there is something wrong. So please let us know when that happens.

Regarding the iOS: It behaves exactly as you specify. It tried to connect, if it fails it says failed to login and then you can still select access your downloaded files.
To do so: Click on Advanced in the login screen and select the "Offline Access Only" On.

Can you tell us what specifically is the issue you have with security. On request, the tonido IOS app supports auto-lock etc and these were improvements made for security.
