I have just received a brand new Plug 2 and all seems to be working fine apart from this. I really want to view media from my drive on my new Samsung Smart TV. I have switched on 'Media Streaming' on TP2 and I can see the Tonido in the list of sources on the TV.

I can see the folders ok on the TV and the picture files but I cant view them. When I select a file on the TV I get an error "not supported file format".. However, when I use the same files on a USB stick and plug this directly into the TV - it sees/reads/shows the same files fine.

So, the TV shows the same files fine when reading from USB, but not when reading from Tonido Plug2 Media streaming..

The TV is a Samsung UE40D6530

We need to buy a new Samsung TV to check and troubleshoot compatibility issues unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply... Hmmm, is there anything I can do to help? Maybe provide a debug/log file to see if there is anything obvious (as you suggested in the post you referred to above).

I appreciate you cant go buying every TV on the market, but, any plans to buy get/borrow a samsung? In case it helps - my HTC Desire phone works fine streaming media to the TV, so, does this possibly suggest an issue with your implementation of DLNA?

It definitely is a software compatibly issue, there is no doubt about it, but it is hard to know what will make the Samsung happy other than by sending it different responses to see what helps.

You can change log level to trace and then make the samsung request the files and then send us the log so we can see if we can figure something out.

I have the same problem with my new Yamaha receiver. If it would help improve Tonido's compatibility, I'll log a few access attempts.

Have you been able to get the Samsung or the Yamaha to work with any other media server? Do you know what software it was running?

Thanks madhan for your offer to help debug, I have created the trace and attach it to this post. I restarted to get a clean trace. I made the connection from my TV at 20:00hrs

UrbanVoyeur - I haven't tried to debug this with any alternative media server. If you can suggest one that I can DL and install I'd be happy to try. (I'm running Ubuntu but can also run windoze if necessary

From what I see in the log, browsing is working ok, but it never requests for a media file. It probably doesn't like the output provided by the TP2 media server.

My HTC Android mobile phone streams content to this Samsung TV easily, so, maybe an issue with the DLNA implementation.. Anyway - its kinda one of the main reasons i bought this Tonido device so if there is anything you can do, I'd appreciate it. I also notice other posts in the forums about Samsung smart TV's..

This is now working!! Not sure which software update it was because I haven't tried it for a while but I can now get Photos and Music on my Samsung Smart TV... Great... Thanks guys!
