Hi, I have been using the older way to get media streaming to work. The setup is as follows:

1. PS3
2. I use the Media tab under TonidoPlug Admin
3. I have neither XBox/UPnP, nor DLNA check boxes enabled, i.e both are disabled.
4. Auostart is enabled

I can play video files just fine, but music files cannot be played (if they are apple format).

Now I go to "My Media Files" under "My Favorites" and enable the "Enable media streaming to Compatible Media Players", add the top level Media Folder. I see the new Tonido Icon in PS3, however I never see any files under it.

Hope you can fix my issue.

We use the PS3 DLNA access every single day so we know it works, so not sure why you are not able to see any files.

1, Can you change the folder and see if that helps
2. Can you disable the DLNA player under Media Tab and just use the one under My Media files, it could be a conflict.

OK, so removed the share from the Media tab and also unchecked auto start. Re-Enabled the My Media files by checking the "Enable media streaming to Compatible Media Players" and added the top level Media Folder. Then restarted the plug.

Now I see all the folder structures. However I could not see any titles in the movie folders. I verified my mp3 files played well, however the ones encoded with Apple format did not play at all. Photos were detected and played well. Home Video files that I encoded from my camera played well as well.

So then I unchecked the option "Enable media streaming to Compatible Media Players" and as soon as I did that I lost the Tonido Icon from the PS3. So I reset the hardware and re-scanned for media servers on PS3. No media servers were found. So I checked the option "Enable media streaming to Compatible Media Players" back, voila! PS3 detects the media server immediately. However I could not find any titles under any Video_TS folders...

Do I give the plug some time to scan all the folders?

The media server doesn't do any transcoding so your DVD Vob files are unlikely to work.

Madhan hi, but it works like a charm in the legacy method. Why does it not work with the native method? There must be something wrong somewhere that I may be doing???

Please note that in order for me to get it to work in the legacy method I had to UNCHECK both the XBox/UPnP and DLNA check boxes, otherwise legacy behaves the same way as native.

They are different systems using different software.
Which Media Server are you using? the one with the Tonido icon?
To clarify:
Using the Tonido Media Server: Everything works except for video_ts files?
Using the ushare: Everything works including video_ts files
Is that right?

Hi Madhan, what I call the legacy method is the ushare, what I am referring to the native method is the new "My Media Files" under "My Favorites"

So under the native method, I do not see the files under video_ts folders.

Under both the methods I cannot play apple encoded audio files. I do see the files, however I cannot play them. THat seems to be a PS3 issue I think.

All photos can also be viewed under both methods.

All home movies can also be viewed under both methods

ok that is more clear now.
Can PS3 generally play files under video_ts folders?

Yes with ushare it can, but only if I disable XBox/UPnP and DLNA. This is how I have been managing thus far.

So PS3 plays the files with .vob extensions? In that case, we will have to see if we can add that those files as supported.
