I have a guest user set up with full upload privileges to a folder on my HD. The upload will not work according to the shared user. I have tested this by logging out of my account and logging in as the shared user and I can verify that this function does not work.

There is an error message that is apparently almost unreadable as very small letters and white on a pink background (who the hell coded that one?!) that I have managed to decipher as 'server error'

Am I doing something wrong?

Are you running TonidoPlug?
If not, are you using WebsharePro?

Which OS/browser is the guest using?

Using either latest Firefox 3.6.10 or Safari Version 5.0.3 (6533.19.4) - it doesn't work on both - on latest Mac OSX and not using Tonido Plug but I obviously do have WebShare Pro

Server (IO) Error comes up in barely readable letters white on pink when attempt upload.

I did not do anything special to the Tonido automatic setup. I can access the share yet the share cannot be accessed via 'connect to server' in menu bar (Error connecting to server) - think this is some kind of extra error which I have not got to grips with yet. I am connecting therefore by entering the share URL in the web browser.

I just installed WebsharePro on my Mac OSX running latest 10.6 and then shared a folder and gave my guest upload access. The upload worked correctly.

One thing to try is to see if you can upload into your Tonido Explorer UI using the "Upload" function. The websharepro uploader uses the same function more or less.

Also, the uploader uses flash and flash needs to make a direct connection to the tonido server unhampered by special proxies in between, so if there are some special proxy servers running, it won't work and the upload will fail.

If what you mean is to go into my workspace and try to upload a file from there , then no this whole things is not working. No error message .. nada. Pressing upload after browsing for a file simply brings a pop up "file upload dialog" asking me to chose a file and then upload but that wont work either.

Clock is ticking ... I have no idea how to make this work

You know its really strange that I can get a WebDav link via CyberDuck but not via the Apple connect to server function. No idea why guest user upload wont work but support is slowish here and time is money and I have to move on and get some software that does work so probably good bye Tonido until all this works seamlessly.

I had the same problem, I have created guest user accounts and no body was able to upload anything. then i realized the folder i am sharing with people have lot of spaces for example "The Folder Name" now some how when Tonido creates the link it turned it into something like this: THe%Folder%Name : Which is hard for computer to understand somehow... I created new folders in my computer with neat names ... without spaces and now its working fine for me.
