I have noticed that my download speed seems capped around 500kb/s. My current download bandwidth is 35mbit and the drive that is being downloaded to can be written to at around 20MB/sec. In the torrent global settings I have download set to unlimited. Any suggestions?

Are you getting faster speeds from other Torrent apps?

I'm having the same issue, when I torrent the same file with the same number of seeders on my Mac it gets a higher speed. To be exact, I'm getting like 3-20kb/s on Tonido Torrent and 100-300kb/s on Mac (Transmission). Is there any way to improve the speed by changing settings? Do I have to do port-forwarding?

If you are getting significant slow speeds, it probably means you need to port forward the ports used by Tonido Torrents to your plug.

Tried port-forwarding and it didn't help at all. The problem seems to be at the torrent client. I tried lsof and netstat commands and saw tonido opening random ports for torrent even though I have specified 6881-6889. Strange.

For what's worth. I've only used Torrents a hand full of times. I set download speed to unlimited and upload to 50kbs and see some of my downloads coming in at over 1mbs and 700kbs is not uncommon. I port forward the whole range.

if you check network download data at router, it is much more higher than what you see in torrent client.
it is close to what total shows at bottom.
so no worries, actual speed is 10 times faster than UI reports! :D
