How come this feature was dropped?

Video streaming in Webshare was never supported. Most likely your browser is not opening the video file that it was opening before.

Yes, my error mixing mp3/4. I saw this in the release notes while attempting to diagnose:

v 2.34.0.15964 - Oct 19, 2011
- Webshare: MP3 files are downloaded when clicked instead of playing in the browser

I'll look at the browser/flash to see what may have happened. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Have you thought of using something like Flowplayer to stream videos?
