I would start by asking if they have any filter/restrictions set for accessing your computer and if they can disable it. (Based on the response It looks like they are using squid proxy that caches data and such)

You can describe the problem by saying that you are not able to access your system when using HTTP POST methods and you are seeing a response from their system:

type="text/css"><!--BODY{background-color:#ffffff;font-family:verdana,sans-serif}PRE{font-family:sans-serif}--></STYLE>
07:30:11:463 [0] []:E: </HEAD><BODY>

07:30:11:465 [0] []:E: <H2>The requested URL could not be retrieved</H2>

07:30:11:482 [0] []:E: </BODY></HTML>
07:30:11:482 [0] []:E:

Other than that, I am afraid we dont have much control over this.

keyanddoor,

Did you find a solution to this issue?
I'm using smeserver (e-smith) and it has a squid transparent proxy and I have the same issue. I can only get around it by opening a VPN to my work network.

Hi

I'm having the exact same problem. I've read all the posts and accept that it probably is the ISP issue, but at the same time I can upload with no issues when I use the web interface, so I'm a little confused why it works for the web interface but has issues from TonidoDrive. As previously reported by others, I can read the server fine via TonidoDrive, but cannot upload back to it. Any attempt results in a document named correctly, but zero bytes and it can only be seen on the server itself.

I love Tonido and it is at about 95% of the solution I need, but being able to edit documents remotely versus downloading then re-uploading via a web interface would be the final piece. Has anyone managed to get around this issue?

I'm running Tonido Pro on Mac OS X, all the latest updates, trying to access via TonidoDrive on Win XP SP3. Tried two different ISPs and two different VPNs, always the same "Cannot copy XXXXX: Cannot read from the source file or disk." Can provide log also if it will assist.

Desperately looking for a solution.. Thanks.

I encounter this problem and has been frustrated by it too.

I have a Tonidoplug2 and have no problem doing the Tonidodrive. My router was configure has QoS and Port Forwarding for this interface. Without QoS, I faced an issue of port being denied access repeatedly.

I have a Tonido installed on Windows7 and operating on a different port in the same environment. I face this problem despite the QoS and Port Forwarding being set correctly.

I configured my router to use DDNS from No-IP and then use these on my Tonidodrive to enter my environment.
Example: <myddnsname>.redirectme.com:10001 to access Tonidoplug2
<myddnsname>.redirectme.com:10002 to access Tonido

It works!!!

One more thing... Does anyone know how to do away with the 2.38GB limit for transfer into the drive?

I still cannot get rid of this problem totally but I can use DirectNet Drive to solve two problems:-

1. Transfer of folders and files greater than 2.38GB
2. Cannot read or write files even as small as 4KB (frustrating). Occassionally, you have to push the retry button but the files get written anyway.

The disadvantage of this software is that I need to map each share to one drive unlike TonidoDrive which map all the share to one drive. I do hope Tonido can write a similar program that can control the read and write this way.

After downloading and installaing DirectNet Drive. Here is how it is configured for Tonido (make use your websharepro is running).

Site Name: <Anything you want to call it>

Drive letter: <Any drive that is unused>

Autoconnect: <Your choice> (This is the checkbox beside the Drive Letter)

URL: http://<Your IP or Tonidoid>:10001/app/websharepro/share/<ShareName>/
(I like to use the IP because the Tonidoid seem slow and more prone to error, This will change to http://<User>:*@<Your IP or Tonidoid>:10001/app/websharepro/share/<ShareName>/ when you key in the user and password)

Protocol: WEBDAV

Host: <Your IP or Tonidoid>
(Autofill when URL is keyed)

Port: 10001
(Autofill when URL is keyed)

Path: /app/websharepro/share/<ShareName>/
(Autofill when URL is keyed)

User: <Your Guest Login Name or Your Tonidoid>
(URL will change once you do this)

Password: <Password>

Proxy and SSL (I didn't use these)

Thanks for the feedback. Have you tried using the latest Tonido Drive version 3.66?
