I installed tonido drive on my laptop to be able to access all of my files on my desktop. I've ran into a problem and I'm sure it is a user error, but any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

When I change an excel document on my desktop the change does not show up when I open the same document through my tonido drive on my laptop. What happens is the file I open on my laptop is an old version of that file and then it automatically syncs the old version to my desktop. When I go back to my desktop and open that same file the old version opens up and I lost the new version and all the updated information.

I can create a new document on my desktop and save it and then go to my laptop and pull up that document (through tonido drive), but when Im update an existing document on my desktop the update is not showing up when I open that document on my laptop.


Very frustrating. Can someone please tell me what I might be doing wrong.

To make sure I understand.

1. you create a file in your desktop where Tonido server is running
2. You setup TonidoDrive on your laptop and mount that Tonido Server
3. You then open the desktop file using TonidoDrive in Laptop
4. You then edit the file in laptop and save it in laptop's TonidoDrive
5. If you then open the file in desktop, the changes made in laptop is not present?


Are you are doing changes to the same file both on Laptop using TonidoDrive and on Desktop? If you do that, TonidoDrive has no idea that the change in Desktop is newer or older than the one it has and it will always assume that the TonidoDrive's own version is newer and when you save the file in TonidoDrive, the TonidoDrive will overwrite the server file.

If you think that your file in the server version might be updatged, you can try to clear the cache before you start editing a file using TonidoDrive (Using the Tray icon, you can select the clear cache option and then launch the drive to recache the latest version from server).
