I'm getting the failed to connect error when trying to connect and sync to my TonidoPlug2.

Sync is installed on the Plug and I can open the sync folder.
Here are the last lines of the log:

The log is from the laptop.

Thanks for your reply.
For whatever reason, I had a port number on the end of my server url. Removing that allowed me to connect, my bad.

Is there some documentation which describes in some detail how the sync process is supposed to work? For example, I added a file to the Sync folder. It synced. I updated it a little while later and it doesn't seem to have synced. Looking at recent activity shows what I'm seeing.

Am I misunderstanding how it's supposed to work?

Have you looked at this?
http://www.tonido.com/support/display/docs/Sync+Files

Sync can take a few minutes, so do give it a few minutes.

I tried again this morning (yesterday's change didn't sync. I see this in the log of the computer which has the file which I just changed.
08:35:09:093 [8] [Sync]:T: >> FS Change Detected >>
08:35:13:953 [5] [default[#1]]:T: SyncServerDB saveDataStore start
08:35:14:046 [5] [default[#1]]:T: FSSyncDB saveDataStore DONE OK with 0
08:35:14:046 [5] [default[#1]]:T: FCA Dirs: 1 Changes: 0 items
08:35:14:093 [7] [Sync]:T: Requesting another FS Scan

08:35:19:218 [5] [default[#1]]:T: FSSyncDB saveDataStore DONE OK with 0
08:35:19:234 [5] [default[#1]]:T: FCA Dirs: 1 Changes: 0 items
08:36:09:125 [7] [Sync]:T: Tonido::Sync::FSWorker::doLock
08:36:09:140 [7] [Sync]:T: Tonido::Sync::FSWorker::doGetSyncDelta
08:36:09:140 [5] [default[#1]]:T: Tonido::Sync::RefreshLockActivity::run
08:36:09:171 [7] [Sync]:T: FS Need to Download : 0
08:36:09:171 [7] [Sync]:T: FS Need to Update : 0

That seems to suggest the change was detected and "saved". But when looking in the sync folder I see the file from earlier yesterday before the changes.

I haven't found the log on the plug (yet).

Now when trying to get to my plug from a browser I get this.
Tonido Service Unavailable

The Requested Tonido User Website is not currently available. The user's Tonido software could be switched off or there could be an connectivity problem.

I can reach the plug if I put in the local IP address.

Once there on the top right is:

Access your computer from anywhere using:
http://dferrey2.tonidoid.com

When I click on it I get the above error.

Also, I added another file to my sych folder but it never synched with my plug. For kicks I tried logging into TonidoSync via settings and it couldn't find my plug. It could log in via the IP and port number. Still no sync however.

Not wanting to keep piling on here but when testing earlier this morning I decided to delete the test file from my plug sync folder. The folder shows as empty but I still see this:

Sync Folder Location:
/media/disk1part1/TonidoSync
Currently Stored:
54.51 KB
Max Allowed Storage (Upgrade to Pro):
2.00 GB

My test file was 54kb.

If the plug is not available remotely, sync is most certainly not going to work as well.
If you go to your Plug's Settings->Network->Tonido Relay is it "active"?
If not, you can try toggling it.

Only once you are able to connect remotely ok then sync will work fine.
