Yes, I realize it is BETA app and yes I am running Android 2.3.4. My post was not intended to be a critique of the usefulness of the app nor a review of quality. As a BETA Tester I was providing feedback on observations made using a specific device and specific operating system. I think items 1 - 5 are clear as to what I observed.

The last 2 paragraphs are directed to your advertising and marketing department. These are general thoughts and perceptions from a user that is not yet a Tonido user or fully understands the usefulness your service can provide. Such perceptions are useful as it provides an insight into what potential clients perceive about the service and allows the advertising department to refine the product or service description informing the potential user of why they need to buy this product and how it would be useful to them. What should be of most interest to the advertising department is this statement, “If you are able to make AVI video files stream from Windows 7 Business(64bit) to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 please let me know and I'll buy it.” This statement tells you that there is a sale of the app in its current form with the addition of AVI streaming support. This clearly give the R&D department a goal to work to as the statement indicates a need in the market place that is not being filled at the moment.

If you took my comments as a negative critique of your product you should not. They are observations of BETA software and are meant to provide feedback from a “First Pass/Look” perspective. I do not provide negative critiques to freeware. If something is free then you get what you pay for. You asked for Beta Tester so I gave your app and software a First Look and recorded my observations.

TonidoApp version: 40.0
Android version: 2.3.5
Tablet/Phone model: Samsung Stratosphere SCH-I405
Wifi/ 3G/ Both: Both
Country: USA
Accessing TonidoPlug or Computer running Tonido: Computer running Tonido

I have been using Tonido for a couple weeks. It seems to be a very powerful tool. Except I have one major problem with the app for my Android phone.

When I remotely access my computer at home, and start to look through my files, if the file name of a file is too long there is no way to change the view of the "explorer" so that I can read the entire file name when using my phone.

So, while a powerful tool the fact that I have no idea how to tell one file from the next makes it un-usable in its current state. Which is unfortunate.

I have attached a picture to better explain what I am looking at. As you can see, there is no way to know one file from another, and no, changing the file news of the thousands of, well organized media files for the sake of using this app, when others are available is not an option.

So, it would be nice to see an update that allows you to either change the view of the explorer software on my phone, or give a way to read the full file name.

Thanks

EDIT: Of course, after searching for 45 minutes, and putting "long", "file", "name", etc., etc I find this after leaving this message:
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4584

I agree that a "long key press" would work. Just so if I want to download something I have a clue what I am downloading. I understand your team's thinking that "UI looked cluttered with long names, hence we truncated", but as a use I will say I that cluttered is better than a view that is un-usable. IMHO, you should offer both views, and let the user choose between "cluttered or full file names" and a cleaner look.

Hope this helps. Thanks again.
