A great step in the right direction! I'm testing this on both a Droid and a DroidX,

-- On wi-fi the app works fairly smoothly, with only minor glitches here and there

-- On 3G, the app is virtually unusable because it is so slow accessing directories, especially those with large numbers of files.

* app won't exit properly
* app won't retain sign-in after exit
* app streams music on 3G erratically; sometimes it works, other times it doesn't
* overall the app is slow and seems to consume a lot of CPU cycles. The phone gets pretty hot!

I will experiment more and provide more feedback.

thanks for the feedback.

We will get the android devs to look into the issue. The objective is to allow the app work normally in both wifi and in 3g networks so we will resolve this issue.

I have noticed a bug with empty directories. If you try to access a directory that has no files, you get booted back to the root directory. I believe a less annoying approach would be to show the contents anyways (nothing), or have a message pop up stating that the directory is empty (or something similar). Still playing around with it.

I have also noticed 2 issues with my music library.

Issue 1:
This does not happen with listing all files, but lets I will give an example:

I have a folder with an album of songs.
01 name of song.m4a
02 name of song.m4a
03 name of song.m4a
etc.

what I see in tonido app
01 name of song.m4a
me of song.m4a
03 name of song.m4a

As you can see, a weird truncation occasionally occurs.

Update: I see this is related to characters like "apostrophies". The songs that I see getting truncated have apostrophies in them. There should be a work around for this since this is an acceptable character in Tonido file system and in android file system.

Issue 2:
Also, I noticed there is no support for m4a files in android app even though android can play them. It doesn't even try to redirect the file to a media player to play them. Just a white screen saying "View File".

Can you try this again with Android Beta 2? Please let us know if this is still a problem.

Regards

This is the main problem I see also.

Also, when I'm browsing in Tonido and then say, get a text and go to reply to it. When I go back to Tonido... it says Null under User. Then says can't find... something and then force closes.

Yeah, it's a little slow when browsing over 3G... but I'm not too worried about that right now. I'm just using this to see how it works.

"Also, when I'm browsing in Tonido and then say, get a text and go to reply to it. When I go back to Tonido... it says Null under User. Then says can't find... something and then force closes." - Looks like a bug.. we will test & fix it.
Thank you for the feedback!!

Couldn't reproduce this issue. Can you give me more info?
1) Is it consistently reproducible?
2) version of Android OS Phone
3) Time spent in messaging before coming back to Tonido

Yes. Every time I switch to another application while I'm running Tonido, then go back to Tonido using the "back" button I get the null message thing. Here is a screen shot of the error:

I'm using Froyo 2.2, rooted.

As for the time, just enough time to read the message and reply or delete it. It's never very long. But it does this any time I switch away from Tonido, not just with messaging.

Hope this helps.
