Here are the steps for mounting a windows share on the TonidoPlug
1. Install samba client/filesystem on the TonidoPlug
Code:
# mkdir -p /var/cache/apt/archives/partial
# sudo apt-get install smbfs

2. Mount the remote windows share on the TonidoPlug
Code:
mount -t smbfs //<Windows Machine IP>/<Share Name> /path/to/mount -o username=<username>,password=<password>

3. To automatically mount the windows share on the TonidoPlug everytime the plug boots
Code:
//<Windows Machine IP>/<Share Name>  /path/to/mount    smbfs   username=<username>,password=<password> 0     0

Ok, maybe I could add this here too, while looked after to get things working. If you want to have mounted share working with international letters in filenames (for example with Jukebox and Webshare pro) use this line instead in the fstab

Code:
//<Windows Machine IP>/<Share Name>  /path/to/mount    smbfs   username=<username>,password=<password>,iocharset=utf8 0     0

I cannot for the life of me get this smbfs mounting to work from the plug between 1.x and 2.x network subnets. I can ping everything between back and forth fine, but the mounting just doesn't want to take.

Any suggestions?

Much obliged.

Also, is there a way to shelter the share to only a certain specified user or users?

So I am relyping to my own post, but I was able to glean more info due to my setup which inturn leaves me with just more questions.

Apparently, as per the following link, samba/smbfs and my Windows Server 2003 box don't talk the same talk.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MountWindowsSharesPermanently

I've searched the forums for cifs information, but nothing spectacular shows up. I don't have any issue in attempting what the link above shows (I assume all the steps need to be performed in the order shown), but don't want to make more trouble for myself if there's a simpler/alternate way.

This Tonido post shows an interest in the cifs issue, but nothing was resolved as far as I can tell

Without this connection, I'm unable to use the jukebox as intended. Big bummer.

Thanks for any time spent.
