I would very much like some sense of when another version of the Torrent app will come out for my T2,

The integration of the torrent app into Tonido was one of my primary motivations for purchasing both the first one, and the new one.

I tried using Transmission, but it does not give me the remote access via my TonidoID. If there were some way to make that happen, I would be happy.

If there are other options, I would be happy to hear them. I would also be perfectly content rolling back to an older version or even just using a buggy version of the Tonido torrent app.

I'm pretty flexible, there are a number of ways to turn me back into a satisfied Tonido user, and I am open to anything.

Thanks,
:ugeek:

The torrent app caused the plug to stop responding under heavy load and this is not something we want to happen. To fix this issue with the Torrent app might need updated kernel/drivers etc, which might not be easy to replace without flashing a new image.

We are looking at options on providing this support.

Transmission is an alternative till then.

I fully 100% agree with "PINK" . Torrent app was my primary reason to get TP2. 99% I am sure i would not have spent my money on TP2, if I would knew in advance that torrents dissapear the next day after my TP2 arives. What a pity.... what a loss

I was trying to launch 'transmission" , but could not get it working

PLEASE PLEASE give us torrents.

Why do we NOT get the freedom to choose ?
I would be happy to use the buggy old torrent app, with all its following other problems
For me - it is better to have some bugy, crappy application, rather then to have NOTHING at all

If you can not fix the bugs - please please let me use the old buggy version

Unfortunately, we have found no way to fix this issue yet without the plug becoming unresponsive.

How about making Transmission the TP torrent client - package it and integrate the Transmission web interface into plug's admin?

Yes, we are looking at a few other alternatives. We hope to announce those shortly.

Ok, finally we got a procedure to bring your torrent app back to life.
If you are experiencing plug freeze running Tonido torrent application. This problem is caused mainly due to the fact that kernel code was missing a module. We have an updated kernel that has this module built into it.
Follow this procedure here: http://www.tonido.com/support/display/docs/Flashing+A+New+Kernel+Onto+TonidoPlug2, to update to the new kernel

Once the kernel is updated, reboot the plug and activate torrent app.

It is working brilliantly, thank you very much for this!
Note - i followed the instructions from the link for reflashing the kernel, the last step:

Code:
nandwrite /dev/mtd2 ./uImage -a –p

did not work, however this did:

Code:
nandwrite -a -p /dev/mtd2 ./uImage

thanks, I am once again a happy Tonider (is that a word?) :ugeek:

I had a similar issue. For me it was a cut and paste error the -p actually pasted as something else. Worked fine when I typed it instead of pasting.
