Whenever the Tonido is rebooted, due to a power outage or whatever reason, the Torrent application "Checks" every single torrent file and then continues to Download / Seed.

However, I have noticed that many times it will check a couple of files and then leave the rest in a "Queued" status. I cannot click on the file and the START button to jump start the download/seeding process. The only work around is to do a STOP ALL and then START ALL. Sometimes I have to repeat this process multiple times to get everything working again.

Has anyone else seen this ?

Here is a screenshot. When my tonido ( Sheevaplug ) booted up, only 1 torrent was seeding. The rest were in Queued stated. So I did a STOP ALL and START ALL, and then everything worked except one.

Tonido Torrents does not store resume data (We intentionally set it up since Tonido is typically always on). Therefore, When Torrent starts up, it will check partially downloaded files to figure out what needs to be downloaded. It will do this one at a time and depending on the file, it can take few minutes. A torrent in "checking" state is already in "started" condition. It will go into "downloading" or "seeding" state once the checking is complete. Checking is done one at a time and during this time, other torrent will be "queued" to be "Checked".

Also, By default, Torrents are in "auto managed" mode and will queue files if there are multiple downloads in progress. You can "force start" a queued Torrent (as long as the Torrent is not doing the "checking" action.

The issue is that it remains in queued status until I do STOP-ALL and START-ALL. Only then it will move from QUEUED status to CHECKING and then on to SEEDING. If I don't do STOPALL / STARTALL, it remains in QUEUED status.

Let me see if I can recreate the issue and monitor the torrents for ... let's say 6 hours. Taking screenshots on the hour. If they don't move to a SEEDING status without manual intervention, then we can assume there is an issue. Otherwise I will go ahead and mark this issue as solved. Sounds good ?

Yep!. Definitely.

Can you do this with less than 6 torrents? Remember, the "Queued" status is done to allow other torrents to get a healthy bandwidth and prevent starvation. The default number is 6 I believe. Beyond that, torrent will queue it.

If you select the queued torrent and hit "Start", does that start it up (which is the same thing as "stop all" and "start all")

Thanks

Okay it happened with 3 torrents. Here is the screenshot.
I tried to jump start it by selecting the queued torrent and clicking start button, and it did not work.

Ok. I will scan the code and see why this might be the case . May be I might need to change some libtorrent setting.

I have this same problem.
Only three torrents are active. The rest are queued. I cannot "force start" a fourth one with the start button.

Forgot to mention. I have waited a couple of days to see if the queued torrents would autostart on their own. They haven't.

The "stop all" then "start all" worked for me. I did that a couple of times and some of the torrents went from queued to downloading/seeding status.

Roguetoad, this is a known issue with libtorrent. The libtorrent developer has acknowledged this issue, and rydgaze talked about it as well. We are now waiting for libtorrent developer to fix the issue.
