I just bought a TP2. Want to use it as a NAS server for streaming media to a BluRay player (OPPO BDP-93) that's networking/streaming/DLNA capable. Everything networked via Ethernet on our LAN. External USB HD (NTFS, 1.5 TB) connected to the TP2. TP2 upgraded to 2.51.0.18321.

Things work somewhat but not fully (see below). I therefore want to play around with the Streaming settings as per http://www.tonido.com/help/Index.htm?context=720. But there is no "Media" tab among the top tabs on the TP Admin page, only the tabs Information thru Logs.

Where can I, e.g., turn off and on the XBox 360/UPnP and DLNA settings?

Issues I'm having with TP2 streaming to the BDP-93:

I created a TEST directory on the USB HD and added it to the "Media Server Folders" list on the TP2. I copied a bunch of .jpg files plus one .avi and two .mts files (taken with various camcorders) to the TEST directory.

Networking-wise, this setup seems to work fine: From the BDP-93 Networking tab, it sees the TonidoPlug device, and it sees (only) the TEST directory in it, as it should be.

The BDP-93 lists the .jpg files in the TEST directory, and displays the images just fine on the TV.

It lists the .avi file. But when I try to play it, I get the error message:
File Not Supported!
The player does not support playback of this file.

It does not show the two .mts files at all in the directory listing.

Note that *all* these files (including the .mts) display and play just fine (a) when I open the USB HD connected to the TP2 through its private IP address (192.168....) on my PC, and (b) when I hook up the USB HD directly to the BDP-93.

The OPPO tech support folks told me:
"If the DLNA server is programmable, ensure that it does not transcode any of the media types. The player is capable of playing back all of the media types that you will be sending it, so if you are trying to send a transcoded file to the player, the player may reject the codec that the server is using.

MIME Type rules will also make some files not appear over the network as the program is hiding them from the player."

You are looking at old documentation.
Please see http://www.tonido.com/support/display/d ... +Streaming
You want the controls in "My Media Files".

Regarding playback: mts files are not supported in the media types so that could be a problem with listing. We don't have any specific ideas on why the avi file doesn't playback via DLNA from your BDP. Have you tried playback using a different DLNA server?

Madhan, thanks for your answer. I don't have "My Media Files" in v. 2.51.0.18312 though. In contrast to the screenshot in http://www.tonido.com/support/display/d ... +Streaming, the choices I have under Tonido Home are:
My Plug
My Favorites
My Shared Files
My Synced Files
My Media Server
Guest Users

And there's no option "Media Folder Settings" in "My Media Server."

Please go to Applications and then install "Media Server" app and then activate it. "My Media Files" should now appear.

I get the same. Media Server is installed and running however the only options are My Media Server not My Media files and there are no controls.

The problem am having is that the media Server does not autostart when the tonidoplug2 is rebooted and needs to be started manualy each time. I'm booting of a USB Drive.

Err, I did mean "My Media Server".

Do all your applications get suspended on reboot?
That means your user data directory is not set correctly to your mounted usb drive.
See step 6: http://www.tonido.com/support/display/d ... irst+Steps

I have set the User Data Directory to the USB drive. The apps still suspend after bootup. They work fine if I restart them manualy.

This shows up in the log

HomeDir Not Mounted: Not Loading Plugins on Startup

Will that have anything to do with it?

Interesting... Going through the log it loogs like the user data directory hasn't changed

TONIDO_MOUNTEDPATH_USERDATA = "/media/disk1part1"

But if I go to the settings screen after boot it has changed :(

Ok think I have found the problem and a workaround. Looking at the isDataDirMounted.sh script when checking to see if the user data dir is mounted it runs the following check

expr match $TONIDOUSERDIR "$mountpoint"

however $mountpoint seems to be returning blank so the check always fails. If I create a file IGNOREDATADIR in \root\app\tonido\plugscripts it bypasses the check

initial tests seem to show that it works. I'll do further testing to ensure it really is using the USB instead of the flash.

It looks like when following the instructions for booting from a USB disk the $mountpoint becomes blank,
